For a properly healthy lawn, mowing is not enough. Scarifying or dethatching loosens the moss and debris that inevitably builds up on your lawn and prevents light, water, and nutrients from reaching the soil. Industry recommendations suggest that you scarify either monthly, or after every third cut.

These dethatchers do a gentle job, with the spring tines working away the thatch, without damaging the grass at all. If you find you want to scarify deeper, concrete blocks can be easily added.

They are easy to attach to your tractor, using a simple pin hitch. Assembly is also simple, taking less than an hour for most people.
