Question: I need a spare part but it isn't listed on your site. Can you help?
Answer: No problem. Simply use the contact us page with model, type of machine, and serial number if available. Please give a brief description of the part required then add a contact number or email address. We will return to you with availability and price within 48 hours.

Question: Can you give technical advice to sort out a problem with my mower?
Answer: We are aways happy to offer advice on sorting out any technical issues. We have a wealth of workshop experience and like to think that we can diagnose most problems. Please feel free to ask, and we will endeavour to point you in the right direction.

Question: Are your prices inclusive of VAT and delivery?
Answer: Yes. All items listed include VAT @ 17.5%, and carriage to UK mainland. Scottish Islands and Highlands may be subject to a small surcharge - please enquire before purchase.

Question: What petrol does my machine need?
Answer: Unleaded. Yes unless your machine is very old (20 years plus) it will run just fine on ordinary every day unleaded.

Question: What does rotary mean?
Answer: Rotary blades spin much like a helicopter blade, and are the most popular choice these days. They don't give a bowling green finish, but a good enough result for most lawns.

Question: I am not very good at judging sizes and acreages. How do I choose the right size machine?
Answer: Think of it terms of time. Most people want to spend about an hour a week maximum mowing the lawn. If you have a mower now does it take too long? If so go bigger. Alternatively try begging or borrowing a friends or neighbours machine to get a feel for your requirements. If all else fails email us and we will give you the benefit of our experience.

Question: What does cylinder mean?
Answer: Cylinder blades are the most traditional cutting system, and essential if you are looking for the perfect bowling green finish. Cylinder mowers don't work well on long or wet grass so it may be worth using a rotary as well for some cuts.

Question: My lawn is full of moss. What can I do?
Answer: Perfect lawns require lots of work. As well as treating the lawn you will need to scarify regularly. Leaving the grass a bit longer say 1.5" or 35 - 40 mm minimum will also help no end.

Question: If I want to clean my machine is it okay to tip it over?
Answer: For electric machines you are okay but always disconnect from the mains before doing anything. For petrol machines it is best to get a helper to hold the handle bars to the ground thus lifting the front sufficiently for you to work underneath. Always beware of sharp blades and other edges.

Question: Are your parts genuine, or replica pattern parts?
Answer: All of our parts are genuine spares from the manufacturer quoted. We do not carry cheap pattern parts, as they compromise the quality and reliability of your machine.

Question: What is mulching?
Answer: Mulching is a popular system for larger lawns where the grass is kept in the cutting deck for longer and chopped finer. This way it is virtually undetectable on the lawn surface thereby avoiding the need to collect. The benefit is a massive 40% time saving and no unsightly compost heap to look at. You will need to mow regularly though to maintain the finish. Best used on larger areas of orchard paddock type finish.
